MACDONALD, Frances Iona

Frances Iona Macdonald - age 81, of Newboro, ON, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Born in Kingston, ON, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Violet May (Flake) Hamilton-Reid. Frances was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, sister-in-law, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and business woman. She lived, worked and owned businesses in Napanee, Sunbury, Battersea, and Newboro, ON and spent summers in Grand Pré, NS. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Alyson Macdonald (Michael Forbes), Dartmouth, NS; sons, Sam (Wendy) Macdonald, White Rock, BC; Albert (Alice) Macdonald, Athens, ON; special niece, Angela Stanley, Belleville, ON; brother, Gordon (late Doreen); sister-in-law, Phyllis Reid, Napanee, ON; nine grandchildren, William, Grace, Phillip, Aiden, Roddy, Jay, Tythan, Matlin and Emily (Ed); two great-grandchildren, Raine and Katie; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Roderick Anderson Macdonald; siblings, George, Gerald (late Louise), Eileen (late Harold) Snider, Donald (late Orma) and Reginald. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A private service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or the Ontario SPCA.
